Hello Seattle

I didn't know two weeks ago that I would end up in Seattle this weekend. But there I was, staring right up at the Space Needle during Earth Hour 2014. We landed at the airport and went straight to this landmark to witness their participation in the observance of Earth Hour. This worldwide lights-off event began in Sydney Australia in 2007 and now engages over 7000 cities around the world, including Seattle tonight.

We being Harry and myself. We have been traveling together and meeting in different cities around the world since December 2011. This is only our fifth adventure together, but who's counting anyways? We booked our flights together about a week ago last Friday and here we are.

Seattle is our first stop. We see the world from different points of view but always meeting somewhere halfway between curiosity and zest for life.

Like this beautiful structure by the foot of the Space Needle that seemed to glow I just had to take a picture. I think this building is called the Pacific Science Center. I'll know more tomorrow when we go back in the area.

After that first stop, we proceeded to our hotel for check-in. It's called the Panama Hotel. I haven't taken any photos of the hotel yet so that will have to wait till tomorrow as well. It's a structure that is 104 years old. But I won't get ahead of myself and save all the interesting facts for tomorrow's post. I was nervous about my choice at first. The hotel isn't your regular Holiday's Inn or Marriot. Thank goodness, after some reservations, Harry has agreed that it was a good choice. Sometimes you never know how to approach all the reviews on the internet and whether the photos do justice to it or not.

The hotel is located in the International District, which is really Chinatown for all intents and purposes. So after dropping our bags and luggages, we walked to a Chinese restaurant called Jade and had a delicious first meal in Seattle.

If you follow Harry (@itsharrycorro) and myself (@cdnrose) on Instagram, you'll see more similarities and contrasts of the photos we take on the spots that we visit.

For now it's lights out Seattle. Day One ends on a good note.
